Investor sentiment around XRP has turned increasingly negative as the cryptocurrency struggles to deliver the recovery many investors were expecting.
According to data from Santiment, XRP-related discussions across Reddit, Telegram, and other crypto communities have become much more pessimistic. The company says sentiment has reached its most negative level in roughly three months.
XRP Drops Below $1
Santiment also warned that XRP falling back below the $1 level could put additional pressure on individual investors.
With XRP currently facing a difficult price environment, continued negative discussion on social media would not be surprising in the short term.
However, there is an interesting difference between XRP's price action and what is happening on its blockchain.
XRP Ledger Activity Reaches a 2-Month High
While investor sentiment has weakened, activity on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has increased significantly.
Santiment reported that 49,929 active addresses were recorded on the XRP network over a recent 24-hour period. According to the data, this is the highest level of active-address activity seen on the network in more than two months.
This is notable because XRP Ledger activity was close to its lowest levels of 2026 in early July. The recent increase therefore represents a significant change in network participation.
Could Negative Sentiment Become a Bullish Signal?
The combination of very negative investor sentiment and rising on-chain activity could be an important signal for XRP investors to watch.
Santiment suggests that if XRP can maintain its current technical structure while demand begins to recover, today's pessimism could eventually be viewed as a potential discounted buying opportunity by some market participants.
For now, XRP remains under pressure, but the rising activity on the XRP Ledger provides a different picture from the negative sentiment seen across crypto communities.
Whether this increase in network activity develops into a sustained recovery will depend on future demand, price action, and broader market conditions.
